Im having trouble with both reverb x and sonar. Many times vegas will crash when "scanning for fx plugins". If it gets further, only way is by uninstalling sonar, it will cause a good old vegas " invalid page fault", when I try the reverb. Sometimes I can get the ones with one " * " to work but anything else will surely crash :(
yup, Im finally running 2.0g.
The PC is about ready for a full re-install, so hopefully itll work after that.
SonicEPM have you guys verified that vegas and sonar will work on the same PC in win2k? Many times it crashes at "grovel event" or some such while loading vegas after installing sonar.
There IS a problem with Sonar in that they include DirectX plug-ins (supposedly for all apps to see) that are restricted to Sonar-only. Can cause havoc, but we believe we have worked around the problem in 2.0g.
Yeah, finally running 2.0g. Reverb -x crashes it left and right, havent tried to install sonar with it yet.
Im about to do my monthly FDISK and system clean, so well know then :)
Yep it is I the little " a " :)
I havent been able to get reverb x to work long enough to hear it!
How does it sound?
Im VERY dissapointed with the dx reverbs out there.
I dont know why a hardware unit should sound better if they both do it in the digital realm! UGH
I really like the way it sounds, the look and the ease of use, its very clean like the 4080L. Now like Waves Rverb it can be a CPU hog BTW Rverb 3.2 is better. I've seen Reverb X run 7 to 106% on my Win98se system with a PIII800. It depends on what reverb algorithm you use. It will studder a PIII 800. Rverb will not even do that! Now no my P4 1.7 on Win2k sp2 it uses 3-51%. Im running two as buss fx in Vegas Video 2.0g.I also use TC Native Verb, Acou Modler, Rverb & True Verb 3.2, 4080L and Reverb X.If I had could only pick 2 it Would be Rverb amd Reverb X.Sorry your having problems, I think if you liked the 4080L that you'll love Reverb X. Stay away from Auditorium and Large Room reverb algorithms they run the cpu hard.
Take Care GW
It seems like the 4080L is the reverb I use 99% of the time, so hopefully the reverb x will be cool.
Still, I have a cheapie yamaha rev500 that i STILL have to use for critical applications. I hope the dx reverbs get better.
I think they are getting closer.
I use plugins over hardware because I can have 10 4080Ls running at the same time with different presets on different busses. for the very big stuff I send out of my motu 1 digital-in/out to a Eventide DSP 4000.and the same for the other hardware DFXPs. I get some people who only want hardware. Have you tried Timeworks new EQ? I don't know anyone how has it to ask i'll download the demo today and check it out.
