Hello u guys, so I make videos about anime using pictures, video clips (from youtube), transitions, and other media but I was just wondering if you guys have any tips/advice on making my videos much faster....Usually, I'll make a script and edit it in 2 days (my videos will be about 3 minutes long) which is kind of slow tbh. Anything helps....thanks in advance.

good media organization, use the custom bins to sort your clips, then use the hover scrubbing to trim out the stuff you don't want from them before dropping them on the timeline... the trimmer is also useful for doing this more accurately. Storyboarding is a great way to get a rough edit down fast, so look into Vegas' storyboard mode as well.

I had no idea there was a vegas storyboard mode. Another thing, is there something like a Shutterstock for sony vegas?

Remember, it hasn't been Sony since 2016. Magix now. There's no specific stock footage affiliated with Vegas. But you can get stock media almost anywhere now.

Pond5 shares one free stock footage every week - just make sure you follow their newsletter or check their blog https://blog.pond5.com/?s=free+video+clip

Proper organization of your files within Vegas is the good foundation of a entire smooth flow of edit but a little bummer about Vegas is, you can't import your well organized bunch of tree of folders in win explorer directly to the media bin just like other PRO NLE out there, so manually do it all over in Vegas project bin or take out your cash & buy a 3rd party app to do that feature.

That sucks but I think some of the tips should make things easier for me. Im thinking about using regions and other things to organize my visuals. Thinking of making short montages of the things I need before hand.

It is hard to give advice as your work flow is unknown.

However, there are some quite commot tips:

- Learn and use keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl + S (Save), Ctrl + Z (Undo), S (split), Del (Delete), Alt + Arrows (move frame by frame), Alt + [, Alt + ] (trim start & end), Alt + 0 (focus time line), Ctrl + L (toggle auto ripple), etc. Almost any operation you repeating can be speed up with keyboard

- Learn and use some things like double click on sliders to reset them, Ctrl + mouse wheel over sliders to adjust them slowly, etc

- Learn plugins (some of them are easier to use than others for the similar adjustments, for example Invert + Levels + Invers vs Curves or Colour Match vs Colour Corrector), how to use their presets and how to copy plugins from one event to another

- Practice (this should be on the first place, I think)

Thanks again! I started to look up certain functions in the help section of vegas pro 15 so I can learn anything helpful. My workflow can be all over the place because I try to get pictures of anime off of google images. I add things based off of my script and usually, I add in a collage of pictures/video clips through the whole duration of my video (just to have visuals to look at so the video won't be boring) and then I place important text/ visuals over my main points.

In my videos, I try to teach stuff from japanese culture and it can take forever to get all of the pictures/clips that I need. I really should get the pictures beforehand..
