TITLE AND TEXT PREVIEWS BACKGROUND

Hi-

Using Vegas Pro 18 for now and was wondering if there's an option anywhere to change the MEDIA GENERATOR's "Titles and Text "PREVIEWS" from the checkerboard background to say a black or solid color?

INSTEAD of having to drop each one into the Trimmer to see.

It's really hard for me to see the mini thumb text motion templates.

I kinda doubt it but thought I'd ask. '-)

Would be a nice little tweak option down the road.

That backgroud is not a checkerboard but that means a transparent background. So every color you place on the underlying track will be your background.

Yep, know that. Was just wondering if the option existed to change the "view" of same. Thinking further though, I see that it can't because of the internal set-up. I've see it done in BorisFX Titler but they coded it from the start to give folks the option to VIEW on black or checkerboard etc. etc.. but the output is indeed tranparent.

ONE THING I would love to see in future iterations of Vegas title things is to be able to change colors and size of different lines or words.......Like if I typed a paragraph of white text and wanted the first line to be yellow or bigger or whatever. Would save a lot of time.

This isn't the solution you were asking for, but it might help for you to enlarge the thumbnails. To do that, hold the Ctrl key and roll your mouse wheel. For what it's worth, we've improved this a bit in VEGAS Pro 19 by making the checkerboard less intrusive.

In VP 19, we did make some subtle changes to the background in Titles and Text to make it those thumbnails more readable. However, it really does not solve your problem in VP 18. I suggest doing what Gary suggests.

Thanks Gary. Yes, that helps some. Hoping down the road we'll have the ability to change "individual" fonts, sizes and colors within a group of text. Been using Vegas since 13. It continues to improve! Nice work. '-)
