For starters you can check your C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA folder, if you have MS Office there are a bunch of sounds like "Swoosh" etc., check the CD.

You can then apply FX to tailor them to your needs.

There are also sites like Find Sounds, Google will find others.

FIrst of all, nothing is free. Sound designers rely on us purchasing their sound effects CDs in order for them to make a living. If you steal sounds from movies or TV commercials, yo'ure violating copyright laws. You can purchase SFX from web sites, or buy them on CD from sound effects companies. Try http://sounddogs.com/start.asp for a place where you can purchase individual sfx for a reasonable fee.
