I'm trying out the demo and am pleasantly surprised at the initial output quality I'm seeing.

Question: I understand that you have to use it as an effect if you want to see the background video in the title designer. Is there any possibility though that in the future I will be able to see video if I use a title as a standalone on the timeline? Or is this not possible because of the way Vegas works?

Thanks.

Insert an EMPTY Event on the TL and add the NBTP3 to that. It works very well. I use this method for GenArts Particle Illusion too.

Thanks but I was hoping to see the background video in the title designer without having to apply the title to the clip. With the empty even I only see black.

Thanks but I was hoping to see the background video in the title designer without having to apply the title to the clip. With the empty even I only see black. How? How could that be accomplished?

I've added as a Media Generator above the Video and I get what I would get with ALL Sony Text stuff. I don't see how I could have the Title Designer working without some kinda reference to itself?

Presently I can have Titler&Video Combo as:

A] Added as FX

B] Added to an Empty Event above the Video

C] Import the Video INTO NBTP3 - is THIS it?

Thoughts?

Grazie

O..K.. Just adding my other Bestie - NB ColorFast - and just simply applied some of the CF Presets to the SAME Event. CF Preset named:

Blue Sky

Buttery

Make It Pop

Ominous

Cheers

I seem to remember that my NB FX were available in Titler Pro 2 but I can't find them in Titler Pro 3. Is there any way to access NB FX from inside TP3? I updated all my NB FX and TP 3 today but this didn't make them appear in TP 3.

I have successfully added NB FX and transitions to TP3 today. Install TP3 first and then install NB FX afterwards making sure, of course, that Titler Pro is selected in the installation box (it's the bottom selection) for each FX that asks you which platforms you want the FX installed to.

I should add that if you installed the FX first and then TP3, you shouldn't need to uninstall anything. Just reinstall the FX again and TP3 should capture them.

Marc, when used as an effect, Vegas sends the video to be affected to the effect. When applied as a generated media, Vegas does not send any background video to the plugin so I don't think that will change in the future.

If you are not seeing the NewBlue effects in Titler Pro 3, just reinstall the NewBlue effects and make sure "Titler Pro" is also chosen as one of the target applications along with the "Sony Vegas OpenFX 64-bit" option.

Just to clarify, using an Empty Event will not allow it to show the background video in the Titler Pro preview as the background is "Empty". To see background preview on the Titler Pro preview screen requires it to be used as an effect on the video event.

Ok thanks JetDV. Is there a way to add a still to the background for reference?

You could import an image and resize it to be full screen in Titler Pro. You'd need to remove it (or maybe change the opacity of that item to zero) once the title was built.
