Titler Pro 3 update

jetdv wrote on 4/24/2014, 9:44 AM
An update to Titler Pro 3 has now been released that fixes the Starter Pack activation issue. You can find the new update here:

http://www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Windows/NewBlueTitlerProForWindowsSetup30.exe

There are a few other minor bug fixes as well.

I have also heard from multiple people asking about rotations above 360 degrees. Yes, this is possible but only after you turn on keyframing. There is really no need to go above 360 degrees if you are not keyframing as 270 and 630 and 990 would all look identical, for example.

I own a number of the NB FX - how do we ensure we have the latest updates? I have products listed in my account but it's unclear what version they have been updated to. Also, Video Essentials III indicates that I need a paid update to version 3 but there is no information about why this is necessary or what v3 offers. The upgrade costs $40 but there appears to be no change to the plugins themselves - is this $40 for bug fixes?

A number of the products I own and have registered aren't even listed. I think the NB system is a bit of a mess tbh. I wish they'd develop a system like Adobe and Red Giant that indicates when an update is available.

Consequently, I'm not sure which versions of NB FX are compatible with or optimised for Vegas Pro 13.

how do we ensure we have the latest updates?

In Titler Pro, Help menu, check for updates.

In effects, essentials, transitions, click the About button in the effects window options/controls pane, then click check for updates in the dialog that opens.

Take any effect in the package, add the effect to an event on the Vegas timeline, go to where you edit the settings for the effect, and click on "About". This will open the Info dialog. That dialog has a "Check for Updates" button.

Ok thanks, I've contacted support about missing products in my account but even when I update to the latest versions they still don't show up. Do I need to deactivate and reactivate to make this happen?

Please consider creating a centralised activation/update program like Adobe/Red Giant use because it's much easier then knowing when a new update is released rather than remembering to click on each plugin bundle. There are a large number of NB FX to monitor.

I noticed that Titler Pro 3 barely uses my GPU. It took 21 minutes and 58 seconds to render a 2 minute test credit roll. Sony mp4 1280*720 30p-50,0000 Using GPU.

GPU-Z shows a load of from 3% to 7% with 957 meg of 1024 meg memory used. CPU is an average of 20% while rendering.

Titler pro 3 is extremely sluggish with anything I do with it.

So how do I make Titler Pro 3 use my GPU properly?

GTX 560 Ti - Driver 296.10.

I just did some more tests with a credit roll. I used key frames to set the start and end. I set it up for 2 minutes. I play it and all is exactly what it should be BUT after I save the test project and then reload it, it is no longer as it should be.

The credits will end at 1:43 instead of 2:00 like it is supposed to. If I originally created the credit roll by copying from Microsoft Word, upon reloading the project, the first letter of one of the names will be missing. If I originally created the credit roll by copying from Notepad, upon reloading the project many words will have the first letter missing.

So instead of 'Children's Performing Theatre' I get 'hildren's Performing Theater'. Instead of 'Big Green' I get 'ig Green'

This is 100% unacceptable! Either Vegas 13 is saving it wrong or Titler Pro needs some more work.

I did a Google search to see if I could get an answer on Titler Pro not using the GPU and found nothing. I updated the NVidia driver to the latest one and still nothing. And now with the credit roll being 100% unacceptable, it looks like it is highly unlikely that I will buy Titler Pro 3 unless I can get some real answers.

If you post your MC Word and/or notepad text files and/or TP3 project on dropbox or other, and your exact sequence of steps in creating the TP3 test project I would be happy to try your sequence on my machine.

I made some changes in the notepad file by adding a space before the first letter on each line. All first letters were then fine except the same one that is not fine when I use Microsoft Word.

Why that one letter? I do not know.

I cannot post the files I have because they contain the real names of children and I cannot make that public.

Anyway, it still does not do the entire 2 minutes after I save and reload the project and it is still very slow and sluggish. Before I save the project, it is perfect. Why it gets messed-up after I save it? I do not know. I also Created a Project in Vegas 12. Saved it and re-loaded it in Vegas 12 and got the same bad results. So the Problem is with Titler Pro 3.

I can create a long graphic with Adobe Photoshop Elements with text and graphics, load that into Vegas and get reliable and FAST results every time. I do flatten the image in Adobe and save it as an *.bmp file which makes it so fast. I keep an *.PSD version just in case I need to make changes.

I can use the slow *.PSD version in Vegas if I want transparency to show video in the background.

Thinking about it all, I can save $100 and use what I have and get the results I want. I guess the only question left is will the other features of Title Pro meet my needs? Will the other features still work once the project has been saved and then re-loaded? I am spending too much time trying to figure this thing out!

The elastic time-line worked one time ONLY and never since. Why? I do not know that either.

A positive side affect to all of this is I installed the latest NVidia driver to see if that would make Title Pro any faster and also use the GPU. It did not do so but Vegas 13 works and loads better now. So at least I netted a positive out of this whole thing.

VidMus, if you could contact support at newblueinc.com and send us the veg file and tell us how to duplicate what you are seeing, we'll certainly look at it to figure out what is happening.
jetdv wrote on 4/25/2014, 8:49 AM
VidMus, I'd also like to see your Word file. I have tested here and cannot duplicate that behavior with copy/paste. Can you please send us a means to duplicate this?

@ jetdv

Thanks for the reply and support. I will try to find a way to explain all of this and send you the text file and project I am working with.

I am not a day person so it will take me a while before I get started on this.

Update: Well, I just bought it. 04-25-2014. So I will provide more information soon.

Thanks.

VidMus, I had a similar problem and the solution was to open Titler pro, go to the Settings menu and uncheck the "Use Motion Blur" option. You can thank Edward for that solution.
