Titler Pro 7 v7.10.250207 - no Attributes nor Objects tab

Hi,

Is there any tutorial available, or preferably a manual, for the current versions of Titler Pro 7?

For the past few hours I have been trying to learn the basics of using Titler Pro 7 from the TotalFX 360 version 7.10.250207 package, but every tutorial from NewBlue or from independent creators on YouTube is 6 years old or older, and shows tabs that do not exist in current version of the program. There is no "Attributes", "Object", or "Scene" tab in the UI; instead, there are "Properties", "Layer", "Global", "Sequence" tabs which not exist in any online tutorial. 😫

I thought that using a ready-made template would make things easier, but it has not! 😬

I have created a project based on the built-in template "Impression / Clean Reveal 3rd (Image)", which I expanded by repeatedly copying the existing text layers ("Name" and "Subtitle") and pasting them as new layers on the timeline. After each such operation, I moved the pasted layers along the timeline so that they would appear one after another over time. I changed the contents of the new "Name" and "Subtitle" variables for the newly created layer copies in the "Global" / "Variables" tab.

The problem is that when I manually move the timeline slider, everything looks fine in the preview window - the text changes exactly as I expected. However, when I play the whole sequence by clicking the "Play" button in the preview window, only the text from the first two layers, "Name" and "Subtitle" (the original ones from the template!), is displayed. 😖 Moreover, it is shown in its original default form from the template, meaning that the program replaces the values I entered for these "Name" and "Subtitle" variables (in the "Global" / "Variables" tab) with the original default values: "Name Last Name" and "Write Your Lower Third Subtitle Here".

The remaining variables, such as "Name-Copy", "Name-Copy 2", "Name-Copy ...", and "Subtitle-Copy", "Subtitle-Copy 2", "Subtitle-Copy ..." remain as I entered them, but they do not appear in the preview, even though the timeline has been extended from the original 3 seconds to 12 seconds.

I suspect this is related to the settings in the "Global" / "Sequence" tab, where, I can see only one record with the following values in the columns:

  • Time: 00:00;00
  • Name: Name Last Name
  • Subtitle: Write Your Lower Third Subtitle Here
  • Image: No Image

Unfortunately, I have not found any documentation for the "Sequence" tab, and I do not know what it is used for or how it should be set up.

Does anyone know and could explain how to use the "Global" / "Sequence" tab?

Is it essential for showing many titles one after another over time?

PS. Before anyone suggests checking the settings, I should point out that in Preferences I have "Enable Title Sharing" disabled, along with the other two options.

PS.2. I noticed that after saving my project, closing Titler Pro, and reopening it, the values of the "Name" and "Subtitle" variables remain as I set them and no longer revert to the original values from the template.

Have you looked at the tutorials on the NewBlue website?

https://newbluefx.com/tutorials/

There are also many tutorials on YouTube both by NewBlue and by other people as well.

You have to have something selected in the preview window in order for some of the tabs to appear. For example, with nothing selected you will see "Layer" and "Global". Click on a text item on the preview and you will now see Style, Motion & Data, Effects, and Transitions.

The "Documentation" can be found by going to Help - NewBlue Designer Help and you then have to choose Titler Pro from the list which takes you here:

"Sequence" would really be a part of Titler Live (now Captivate) which can play multiple titles in a sequence. For Titler Pro, just add more Titler instances to the VEGAS timeline to get more titles. You do not need to use the "Sequence" tab at all.

When used as an effect on a video event on the timeline, I changed the "Sequence" value to 00:02:00 instead of the default 00:00:00. On that event, the title did not appear until 2 seconds into the event so you can delay the appearing by changing the "Sequence" value.
