Titler Pro 7 "Video From NLE" Background Not Working with VEGAS Pro 19

StealthStarSwag wrote on 1/8/2024, 3:29 PM

Whenever I try to use NewBlue Titler Pro 7 in VEGAS Pro 19, I cannot see the background from VEGAS in Titler Pro, even if the "Video From NLE" drop down from "View" > "Preview Background" is selected. I could understand this being an issue if I added the title as a media generator, but I experience the same problem even if I add a Titler Pro title as an effect. Is this a problem on VEGAS's or NewBlue's end? Is there a quick fix to this? I attached a video for reference.

@StealthStarSwag I'm afraid it's at NewBlue's end. That feature hasn't worked for a number of years. I think it worked with TP5, but other's will correct me if I'm wrong.
You can get it to work partially. If you scrub the TP timeline, the background video will update in real time.

NewBlue's.

Had a chance to have conversations with other editors using other NLE and they had similar trouble.

@StealthStarSwag - You are correct. It hasn’t worked correctly for years now.

I stopped installing NBTP at version 6. I can use Version 5 and get the Background from the VP Timeline successfully PLAY in real time, not needing to SCRUB and revealed in the NBTP5 GUI. I’m not surprised @set is now reporting that other NLEs have this issue too. No, it’s not a VP issue. NBTP 5 reveals the VP Timeline Background. I also have BORIS Title Studio which also reveals and PLAYS realtime the VP Background. NewBlue have not corrected this issue in NBTP7, and I don’t see any indication from NewBlue that this will be rectified any time soon.

SCRUBBING is not the same as PLAYING realtime.

First of all, that feature will ONLY work when applied as an effect. It was never available as a generated media. However, it is also a known issue that that feature is not working when applied as an effect. So you are doing it correctly but that feature is not working.

And only from NBTP7. Prior to this, this feature worked. It’s an issue with NBTP7. Pity.

Aw, that kind of sucks! The good thing is that I didn't purchase Titler Pro 7 by itself -- if I did, I would definitely be angry with the "Video From NLE" feature not working. The software was included in an effects package (which, by the way, I got an unbelievable deal on). I figured since the program came with the package, I might as well learn it and get my money's worth. So far, I really like what it does, only I wish NewBlue would resolve the issue.

For the time being, I'm improvising by docking both Titler Pro 7 and VEGAS Pro 19 next to each other. I am able to play the video in VEGAS Pro and see what the title looks like over the video. It's not perfect, but for what I do, it is good enough for the time being. I attached a photo for reference below.

Also, thank you all for your feedback! I am keeping my fingers crossed that NewBlue will patch the bug sooner rather than later, but I'm not holding my breath.

@StealthStarSwag Videos don't play in TP7 but an image does appear, dragging the cursor will scrub play the video but press play & it goes black, why you are only getting black is wrong..?

I did the same as your vid.
