titles

HI All,
I'm trying to make a title with a solid colored background - to be used as a scoreboard for my daughter's school football team. All I can master so far is a transparent text with no background - or a black box from the cookie cutter plugin with the text over the top- not what I was looking for ...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

Dan

Insert text media and go to the preset drop-down list and select 'Solid Background'.

The colour of the background can be changed from black to whatever you want in the background colour section accessed in the properties tab.

Cheers

Well,
it does give a background, but it covers the whole screen.

I was trying to create a "flag" if you will, that slides in from a side, displays the score, over the football games in progress, then slides back. The slide part isn't a problem, but covering the screen or transparent text is. I'm wanting to use red text on yellow background.

I get to try this again in a few hours as my schedule here is confusing at best...

Thanks
Dan

If you are using Vegas 4 or 5, add a cookie cutter to the title using the “cut way all but selection” property. In Vegas 6 you can use a Bezier mask too. Then use a Push transition to do a Push Right onto the screen and Push Left off of the screen. You will then have a small score board that slides in and out just like you see on TV.
