Titles & Text: using different colours for heading and subheading.

Kraznet_UK wrote on 8/22/2017, 8:48 AM

I'm using the default title and text generator. I want to put the heading in white and the subheading in blue. I select the subheading and made it blue and the main heading changed to that colour as well. This seems like a very basic limitation unless there's something I don't know. I can achieve this with the Video Pro X very easily. In fact I can even have individual colours for each letter if I choose. Another thing I'm missing from VPX is a preset colour palette. I'm not an expert enough to just type in the colour codes. Thanks in advance for any advice or comments.

It's not possible within one "Titles & Text" tool.

However, this is possible in ProType Titler which also is a Vegas core Titler. Same as in VPX you could apply different properties to each single letter.

Hi Marco,

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes it looks like the Pro Titler achieves that thanks. Looking forward to V15 on the 28th.

Yes, if you are in the text editing mode in ProType Titler, just select the letters or words and select the desired color for it in the "Stil" tab on the left side of the window. If you click onto the "Fill Color" field you'll get three sliders to select the RGB colors.

Each letter can have its own text properties this way. What you cannot do is animating/keyframing this part of the text properties. This can be done to text block properties only (transform, effects and layout).

No it's just a simple title for my Samplitude tutorials. Here's an example :
