Titling in Vegas

I find the titling in Vegas pretty basic. For example, I wanted a scrolling title with a drop shadow which I would have thought pretty basic.

I can't see any preset for this - can anyone point me to a good tutorial on text effects for titling?

Use a standard title (non-scrolling) - add your drop shadow, then use the placement tab with keyframes to make it scroll. First keyframe - off the bottom of the screen. End keyframe - off the top of the screen (or however you want it to scroll).

The other method is to use track/motion to add shadow to the regular scrolling titles.

Yes, and you could also use Pan/Crop. But Why??? The position tab will do everything you need.

Or...if you really want to take another step....just drop in two event lines of titles. Offset the second one just a bit so it is a shadow of the first - then keyframe them both so they "move" together.
