I have used Cayman's Power CG for 5 years. I used it with Fast Video Machine and now use it with V5. The full version, Power CG plus has animations but I have never used it. Much easier to use V5 time line to move the titles.
Power CG is a good plug-in for V5.

I've been looking at the Adorage/Heroglyph website but it's not clear how their many products and packs work together with NLE's. What if I wanted to just have some of their transitions and video effects. What would I need to purchase, and are they presets that can be configured with my own clips and then dragged and dropped onto the Vegas timeline? Easy to learn?

Well, depending on what you're wanting. There's a software called blufftitler that does 3D text w/ simple particles, simple physics, and a some other things as well. It only runs 30 something bucks USD and is VERY fast to work with. Had a project that needed some animated titles, and I just whipped out the stuff in BT, in minutes (as the deadline was looming overhead).

Heroglyph and Adorage both work directly in Vegas and directly on the timeline. Both are fully configurable as well.

When adding a Heroglyph title, the Heroglyph GUI will open for setting all parameters.

When using Adorage, you can actually have the dissolve area looping in playback and change the dissolve settings as desired watching the results on the preview screen.

I did download a demo of version 2 but need to work through a tutorial or something. Some of the screens and namenclature is a bit confusing.
