Dont' know if you're still having problems - and this is a long shot anyway.
I was playing around with Acid4 & Vegas3, trying out the MIDI timecode syncing between the two apps. I was doing this using MIDI Yoke NT virtaul Midi drivers to send & receive MIDI between them. I noticed that when I would get freezes in one of the apps when I stopped and then resumed playback - about a 3 second pause before playback resumed. NOTE I'm NOT talking about the delay while one app syncs to the other!
I though I must have been putting some strain on the system. I quit both apps, then started only Acid. Same thing with the freezes. Otherwise stable. Closed Acid and opened Vegas - got the freezes here again. I solved the problem by going to the Sync prefs and setting everything to None - ie Vegas/Acid were not trying to use MIDI Yoke.
So, after this long winded ramble; is it a MIDI thing? Do you use MIDI sync at all?
