Thanks for the alert, Grazie.

I just finished a major project with liberal application of Ozone and, in some events, Nectar and RX2, too. I'm still literally amazed at how well these work inside Vegas and, moreover, the sizzle they add to my otherwise (intentionally) flat-sounding recordings.

Wandering a bit OT, I had few events of dialogue in a rain forest, where cicada buzzing was pleasant but so loud that it nearly swamped out the dialogue. In RX2 the cicadas were easy to spot, isolate by frequency, and remove. With a click, I had nearly perfect dialogue left. Ozone and RX2 are the best audio plugins for VP that I have.

Thanks Grazie...love Ozone...5 is nice...but some of the preset compression is so ridiculously over-the-top (I suspect they listen to a LOT of flat-lined compression type Lady Gaga or something).

Will download asap. Woot!

Thanks for the heads up. I agree, AndreasS, but am used to the fact that lots of audio plugins use over-the-top presets to hook new users. One of my favorite things about Ozone is the ability to apply multi band expansion to clean up live mixes. Using it to clean up mud or BG noise on specific frequencies during quiet passages can give incredible and natural sounding results.

Speaking of multiband dynamics Ozone and Rx make a very nice de-esser.

Open the offending track in Rx and use the isolate the offending frequencies with the cursor and the readout in the lower right. Close Rx and add an Ozone fx to the track. Open Ozone and in the dynamics window set one the frequency band to match the frequency limits from Rx. A neat trick is to right click on the desired frequency band and go to "Crossover options", select digital and move the Q slider all the way to the right. Close the options window and adjust either the limiter or compressor to get the right amount of de-essing and your done.

The ability to precisely know the offending frequency band and create a brick wall compressor, frequency wise, is what makes this work so well.
