I just started using Vegas Pro. When I record a new track,
I get all sorts of hum and hiss at around -50db. It is
extremely audible during playback.
A few things I've tried in an attempt to isolated the noise
are, turning off the monitor, turning off my audio
equipment, unplugging all audio inputs to my soundcard, and
I also did ALL of that at the same time.
I am going to download a noise reduction plug-in; but there
is one problem I have with that. I assume I have to pay for
it (??). And I tend to think that a product as high-end and
expensive as Vegas shouldn't have this problem right out of
the box.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas? Thanks in
advance!
BTW - I don't get NEARLY as much noise when recording to
Sound Forge. It's actually a fairly clean recording. But
Vegas sounds like it was recorded at 11KHz... literally.
And yes, it is set at 44KHz, 16-bit.
