Top Ten Reasons to Reset VEGAS Pro Software

To help clarify the importance of resetting VEGAS Pro, when needed and when not needed, and when to do it and when not to do it, what are the Top Ten Reasons to reset the software installation? How did it help?

Addendum: Another thing that might help is to list files that should be backed up in case the reset is not successful or you need to revert back.

1. f you've fooled around with "preferences" - and esepcially the quasi-hidden menu: Internal preferences, and perhaps forgot what you'd done or inadvertantly changed something where you simple can't tell what that might be to "reverse" that, and you suspect - or know - that your performance is compromised in some way.

2. If Vegas is running slow and you can't fix it, especially if the slowness is new.

Otherwise, I'm not sure how much Vegas actually requires a reset, even periodically. Some other programs are more prone to needing a reset.

3. It probably can't hurt (or not too much). Especially if you've saved some files like, in my case, KB commands that I've customized.

If you've installed an effects package, uninstalled an effects package, and installed another effects packages and they don't load correctly or show incorrect names you need to clear the cache which can be part of the full reset procedure.

Maybe start with the specific problem you are having rather than resetting in general and we can say if it's potentially helpful.
