Toronto Raptors Bingo

I have completed a very large project involving a quick high-tech bingo game that will be played in 20 second increments on the Jumbotron at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto from now until the end of the season.

It's the biggest (literally) project I've done in Vegas and it looks amazing.

I needed to buy a new computer to do this gig and installed Vegas, Lightwave and Photoshop only. My combustion license and dongle are sitting in a box and may stay there for a long time. All my titles, layer transfers, colour correction, blurs and glows I tried to do in Vegas and it worked amazingly well!

If you're an NBA fan living in Toronto check out the Jumbotron starting with a home game at the end of the month! That's 100% Vegas up there!

Great stuff, how much you want for the Combustion licence?
Interestingly enough the local Vegas dealer also is the agent for Lightwave, from what you're saying they compliment each other nicely?

Oh, I'll definitely hang on to combustion it is good for finer work, but for straight on compositing with sound effects, transfer modes for explosions and things like that Vegas is quite a little AE/c* killer. Sort of, good for this job anyway! :)

Compositing with loop play on WITH sound effects is so remarkably cool. Combustion sort of does that but you're disjointed from your Avid/FCP and you can't adjust audio too. Vegas can do it all.

I think it's safe to say Vegas compliments just about anything! Lightwave (my personal preference), Maya, Animation Master .. its' all the same to Vegas. Just keep an eye on field dominance and aspect ratios and it's all working out!

Rick;
Congratulations on showing that you don't need a $100K box to do the big stuff :-)
I see in your bio that you're a Windsor boy. I work at St. Clair Collge myself. Great city.
