Track 3D motion, how much to expect?

Hi,

Have to admit that I have never used track 3D motion, and therefore I'm not quite familiar what to expect of this tool in Vegas. In other words, whan CAN be done is one story - what is reasonable to achieve using it (without reverting to other plugins) - is another story.

My need is to render a two sided paperto slowly unfold open (with a printed image on both sides). The paper is folded twice (in three equal parts) in the beginning. All this is a slight perspetive view. Probably Vegas can do it - but how problematic will it be to produce the animation? Should I even bother to try this in Vegas? Was it originally intended for such work - or were is the limit? If you say no, what application should I look at?

Probably this has been discussed before, but it would be nice to have (included?!) templates for such simple animations...

Cheers,

Christian

Hi,

THX Grazie, you have email... ;)

I started experimenting and I already stumbled over my fist obstacle:

- how in 3D to rotate a frame or picture - not around its center - but around one of its edges - or even around an arbitrary point?

This is almost a must if you would need to (easily) animate opening of a barn door or an unfolding page...
