Track and Clip FX Keyframes pane disappeared

2G wrote on 10/29/2006, 2:07 PM
The keyframes pane at the bottom of the FX window for both track and clip fx has disappeared. The entire pan is simply not there. The pane is still visible on Track motion and pan/crop windows. But it is missing on FX windows.

I tried several projects and even a new project. I also shut down vegas and restarted. Sill missing.

Is there some sort of option I've inadvertently selected that says not to display keyframes panes?

How do I get this back?

Thx.

Sorry... forgot to mention that this is Vegas 7.0b

It's there -- you just can't see it. ;-)

Hover your mouse between the window edge and the bottom of the etched border around the FX dialog box. When the cursor becomes a double-bar with arrows (as opposed to just arrows), click and drag up.

Thanks. You are correct. No idea why it completely disappeared.

As a developer with years of user interface design background, might I remind the Vegas developers that the correct user interface a bar such as this to reveal a completely hidden pane is to have an arrow (wedge) indicator on the 'grab bar' or some other indication to give the user a clue.

Thanks again.

Hey Rob and '2G',
I am seeing the exact same problem with the Video FX window and v7.0b.

Having come from a s/w background, I tried to isolate this but not much luck. In case SONY is looking in, here's the latest.

1. Open Vegas while holding Shift+Ctl to reset all defaults.
2. Add video event.
3. Add Video FX and I see the keyframe area.
4. Save project and shut it down.
5. Open same project and click on the green thingy to open the FX window and the keyframe are is not showing.
6. Resize as Rob suggested and shut down FX window.
7. Open FX and now I see keyframe area; shutdown FX and repeat many times and the keyframe area stays around.
8. Save and shutdown project.

Now when project is again opened, then green thingy clicked to open FX, no keyframe area.

This 100% repeatable on this machine no matter what Video FX I choose. Even Generated Media like text behaves exactly the same.

2G if you're looking in, try to follow my steps and see how you make out. Two machines behaving this way does not sound like a coincidence to me.

I'll wait to hear back from you before I report this to SONY through the official support channel.

Cheers,
Tom
