Latest build VV3.
This evening I had a new project with 6 mono tracks already down, and recording the 7th (a vocal). After about 30 sec of recording, the recorded waveform display stopped incrementing correctly showing just a thin red 'zero' line, though the Vegas track input meter still indicated a normal signal.
I stopped the recording and sure enough the vocal cut off and the rest of the take was silence. I saved the VEG file, closed down vegas, restarted, reloaded the project and trying re-recording the track. The input meter still metered, but no waveform displayed or recorded.
I opened a new track, and set it to record on another input and all went well.
Any ideas what happened ? Certainly not the soundcard (MOTU 2408/2) because the Vegas meter displayed OK. It was just like Vegas's wire between the meter and the track broke, and this break was somehow embedded into the VEG file. Weird.
