Track/Event effects - a real brain-bender here

I have a legacy Vegas Pro 8 project that I am currently revisiting to create some new masters. I have spotted a couple of glitches that I have corrected, but I tonight I have got myself completely muddled over the order of how track and event effects are applied, and I could do with some assistance in figuring out whether I messed something up in the original project release.

The project is a live concert film. It is split across two project files. The first project file is syncronised to the concert audio masters (which is roughly in real time, with a split for the interval). So what this project has is the shot selection for the final film, with no edits in time. This project has colour curves and correction applied on each event as required.

The second project has the first project nested within it and is where edits for time are made. It contains crossfades between parts of the first project, significant cuts in time, and has separate tracks for titles and credits.

I paid a huge amount of attention to detail on this project, but I was very run down towards the end. Fairly late in the project I made the decision to apply some light noise reduction to deal with some very noticeable artifacting that was visible in parts of the image. I applied Neat Video with a 1 frame range to the track effects for the track containing the nested first project. As some may be aware, due to the way Neat Video works with Vegas, you then have to make an adjustment to your project to compensate for a one frame delay that is introduced. What I am wondering is if i compensated for this correctly...

I have a feeling that I may have forgotten to adjust one set of titles which were on a separate track. That is not the end of the world, and I can check old reference copies to see if there was a one frame shift somewhere along the line. However, I am wondering if I messed up the fades I had made in the first project that nested and cut in the second project. If Neat Video was applied on the Track effects bus, would it be applied before or after an event fade? If it is applied after the event fade then I think I would have been ok, but if it is applied before the event fade then it would have made all of the fades one frame early, I think.

I can not quite get my head around it at the minute. Now I think about it, I guess the track effects must be applied after event fades. I wonder if I tested this and this is why I did not apply the noise reduction to the event, which would have given better image quality on cross fades and fades, but would have necessitated adjusting all of the cuts and fades by one frame.

I should clarify that I am presently working in Vegas 8 Pro to create some new reference masters, with an eye to moving to a newer version and other tools to do some restoration/re-grading work. I am not sure if the track order behaviour has changed since then. I would hope not!

Anyway, if anybody can unpick this I will be very grateful as I am completely muddled up.

Many thanks!
