Track labels?

Hi all -

I'm laying out a long project with many tracks.

Vegas defaults the left hand side of the tracks to information including (l to r):
Track number
Label (your name for track)
various icons including: Composite, Track Motion, Effect, Automation, etc.

At this particular point in the production I no longer need all those "working" icons. All I need is the track number and Label.

When I drag the track divider - it drags from the right - always INCLUDING exactly what I no longer need to see. But I DO need the track labels.

Any way to select what shows and does not show in the left hand area of the tracks?

Nothing "springs" to mind Vic. Maybe a strip of paper and some BluTak? Now THAT I've seen done with another application!

If it has become an essential way of making the edit experience simpler/safer, then maybe pop a slip of electronic paper into Madison's product suggestion box?

Grazie

Well, THAT'd be a nice feature. Extra space and right-click on command to get those back on specific track(s).
The problem is that these icons got "priority" over title so when we comjpress the column, the titles disapear, leaving place for icons...when most of the times, we refer much more often to titles than these icons'commands.
And triple-click on tracks to mute-unmute, while we're at it, when we're on this state (hiding icons) ... : )

As I migrate gradually to larger and finer-pitched monitors, the stuff on the left shrinks to where now it's just a small fraction of the timeline on my new 24" widescreen display. My suggestion, then, is to use this issue as a rationale for investing in a 24, 27, or 30" display.

It would be nice to be able to select the switches, though.
