Tracks Ending Early Problem

Has anyone run acorss this problem?

When I play a CD burned with CDA 5.2d, sometimes tracks abruptly end before the actual end of the track - several seconds early. This occurs more often for separate songs with a standard 2-sec gap between cuts.

Is this a glitch with my CD-DVD drive, or have you encountered this before? Info:

Compaq Presario C700 Notebook
Windows Vista Home Premium SP-1 32-bit
Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2370 @ 1.73 GHz
RAM = 1.00 Gb
DRIVE = TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L632H ATA Device
DRIVER = Microsoft 6.0.6001.18000 6/21/2006

I have disabled MS Disk Autoplay options and uninstalled Nero and ImToo CD Burner. I dropped the burn speed to minimum (8x) and have verified that the entire tracks are in CDA. I also pre-render the tracks and have changed the TEMP file location.

Any suggestions?

THANKS!

They presumably preview fine in CDA ? How do they play on another device (say, discrete CD player)?

Could be a writer firmware issue - try updating anyway !

Thanks Geoff -

They do preview in CDA correctly, but when played on CD players the tracks end suddenly. Happens on Sony CD player and JVC car deck.

I will look for the firmware upgrade for the drive.

Are you using CD-R music or regular cd's? I have had intermittent playback problems (not playing on other than computer that burned the discs) using anything other than CD-R music cd's especially cd-rw discs.
