Trails...

Hey, i just went out and bought a blood brothers dvd and it has lots of these cool trail things when the musician moves around, i know alot of it is the lighting but isn't there some way i could reproduce the trails like the picture i'll post? Thanks (The pic is below)

You jpg actually looks like it was done in camera with a slow shutter speed. If you want to add trails in post, try Pixelan SpiceFILTERS Step Motion. The Trails preset will do exactly what you want. The Dreamy preset isn’t bad either.

You might try motion blur, you could try using a min/max mask so it only shows through on the highlights might be effective as well.
Some video cameras actually create a lot of trails on very bright highlights, hit them with enough light and they can stay for a long time.

Hello,

Another thing you could try is to duplicate the footage you wish to add the trail to, place it above the original, and then move it so it is delayed or behind the original footage by maybe 2 or 4 frames.. next reduce the opacity to give it that ghost look and then maybe use a blur or dreamy type filter on it.. if you experiment and play with the delay,opacity and some filters like blur etc.. I think you can achieve the look you are after..
