The Vegas 4 book is available, as are DVD's from Class on Demand and a different set of DVD's from Gary Kleiner. We'll also soon have an Instant Vegas tips/tricks book out on CMP. It's not so much a reference as a collection of common and not so common workflows to accomplish tasks in Vegas.

Spot,
I just went to CMP books and did a search on Vegas and only your book showed. What is this Instant Vegas tips/tricks book?
Thanks,
Barry

It won't be officially announced for a little while. We're clogging their pipeline with our other VASST books right now. (3 for NAB alone)

Spot, I was wondering if you know anywhere where they sell them at discount for a starving student? They're kind of high for the average person. Thanks.

Amazon is always 30% off....that's the best I'm aware of. The VASST series sell for 24.95, so that puts them at less than 20.00 on Amazon.

What does "VASST" stand for?

Or Vegas, Acid, Sound Forge Training in the old days.....We used to do only Sonic Foundry tools. But then other manufacturers started asking if we could do tours for them.

I highly recommend the 310 page documentation that comes with Vegas. I can't imagine editing without having it within arms length. Print it out and bind it for maximum usefulness.

Also Gary Kleiner's two DVD set, which takes you through virtually all the operations in Vegas and provides the bonus of enabling you to view the operations on-screen as they are described. The DVDs are beautifully indexed, so you can go right to the information you need.

What neither of these provides, which I would find especially helpful, is an in-depth look at the FX that come with Vegas. Ditto the possibilities with the audio tools. Hopefully this information gap will be filledto some extent by Spot's new book when it comes out.

There is a lot of information on the WWW -- at Sundance, Chienworks and elsewhere -- and it would be very useful to have it all assembled in one place.
