training recommendations

I've used Vegas since version 4 and am now using version 9. I only use it for personal use so I don't use it every day. Years ago I bought Vegas 4 Editing Workshop which was good. I would like to have further training, especially with version 9. I see there is Vegas Pro 9 Editing Workshop. I just wonder if it's too much like the one I have even though it's for vers. 9. Also, someone recommended Absolute Training for Vegas+DVD, Vol. 9 when I posted a question about how to use the pro titler. I went from vers. 7 to 9, so this is my first try at the pro titler. It seems expensive though for training on just that feature. Has anyone used either of these training tools or are there any others that you would recommend? Thanks

I use Spot's book. Best one yet. Much different than V4. Quick and easy reference. Full of great suggestions and tips. The DVD that comes with it is loaded.. Worth every penny.

Thanks for the input. I ordered the Vegas Pro 9 Editing Workshop book from Amazon and look forward to getting it. The VTC web site looks like they have training only up to version 7, so I wasn't interested in that.

I'm a fan of the VASST stuff at VASST.com. They have lots of training DVDs and their web site has lots of free tutorials also. There are also a lot of training videos on YouTube. Just search for VASST training or VASST Vegas Training. Hope that helps.

I find that training manuals tend to pigeon-hole mentally, because the authors tend to be pigeon-holed.
