Training videos and tutorials

I am contemplating doing a long series of training videos/tutorials for the web. They would focus on VMSP and production techniques for the user. (cameras, lighting, audio, scene settings)

Sony has a great training videos on this site both Sony hosted and the series with Les Stroud. So much has been covered already.

First question ... Is there any interest/need for a series like this? (free of course)

Second question ... I am considering either a YouTube channel or setting up a LiveStream channel. Livestream would allow me to do live Q&A's on occasion. Anyone prefer one over the other, or have good or bad experiences with them?

Any style or topic suggestions? Do you prefer hosted videos or ones with just screen caps? Any other comments?

I would be very much interested in such a serial. Most tutorials concentrate on SV. So, my preferences would go to how VMS can handle certain operations, such as masking, that aren't available at the same "level" as in SV. In other words, I mean rather sort of "tips & tricks" than regular course. YT is a good choice for me, but any other channel would do.

I would have to agree. Short tutorials that do not use Vegas Pro colour correction or other specific functions not available in VMS.

I would suggest to pick some "how to" bits to start and then move into the creative arena to how how these how to's work in the real world. Personally, I never get tired of masking tips and tricks. There is so much you can do with just a few small tweaks.

Here is an idea. I can do live broadcasts. During those live training sessions I can take questions via the onscreen chat. You can see my desktop and follow along as well as ask questions for clarification. the live broadcast would be recorded and you could view it as many times as you wanted afterward.

I, too, would be very interested in such a tutorial on line. I have VMS6.
If the tutorial is based on VMSP...I would at least like to see comments which features are also available in the earlier versions of VMS.

Thanks,

Oh yes please, I would watch every single one - more than once!

Tutorial videos are a great way to learn stuff fast.
