I know this isn't really a Vegas problem, but I'm getting nowhere with Dell support. I had to repair and reset up Windows XP. After that my drives were all in PIO mode and I know people say make sure the drives are in DMA mode (which they were before my computer got screwed up and I had to fix the OS). Dell told me to unistall the Secondary Channel and when I rebooted I would be able to set my drives to DMA. Now I don't even have an Advanced Settings tab, so I can't even access the transfer modes. I do have the Adv. Settings tab on my primary channel, and I do have "DMA mode if available", but it stays in PIO mode. So, two problems, what happened to my Settings tab and does anyone know how to fix that? Secondly, why don't my drives go to DMA mode when I have that option selected? Are my hard drives and my DVD drives all suppose to be DMA? Any suggestions would help, because Dell doen't seem to know the answers.
