Transfer to DigiBeta or BetaSP

Anyone know of a transfer facility that I can contact for transfer of a feature film from either DVD or MiniDV to DigiBeta and/or BetaSP. Many of the bigger film festivals require these formats for screening (if selected). Also, if you have any idea of cost involved that would be greatly appreciated so I don't go into this blind.

Thanks.

You definately don't want to transfer from DVD to Digibeta or BetaSP. If you have any effects (and you edited in Vegas), you may be better off rendering to uncompressed or the 4:2:2 codec and finding a house that can take your file and put in on Digibeta or BetaSP.

Most towns have dub houses that will take minidv and transfer to beta. Yellow pages should list a few.

Might help to post what area you live in.

As far as cost, we pay $20 + $8.95(tape cost) for a 5 minute transfer from miniDV to BetaSP here in Oklahoma.

Do a search for duplication houses in the yellow pages or online. Not sure where you're located but in most major cities you'll find at least a few. Another option if you know anyone connected to a local news affliate is to have a dupe run there. That what I do. Cost - 0$ :)

DV will be your best option for a dupe house - for post houses, then an uncompressed file on DVD is good and they can run it from their edit bay.

Just noticed you were in Jersey... plenty of places around that could do this.

If you can, render out using Sony 4:2:2 YUV codec to fwire drive and get someone with the gear to PTT to DigiBetacam. You'll very soon be able to do this from Vegas directly however the interface box isn't cheap and a DVW 500 is even more expensive unless you can hire one.
If you want better looking pictures DB is a much better way to go than SP and it's a more robust format, although I'm getting the feeling it's not that popular in the US?
