Transfering presets to new Vegas on new computer

I know this should be easy but I am having difficulty with this process.

I bought a new computer and a new licensed Vegas Pro 8 bundle. I still have my other computer with both Vegas 6 and its upgrade to Vegas 8. When I did that upgrade, the presets showed up on the new Vegas 8 just fine from my Vegas 6.

Now on the new computer (connected to my lan) I am trying to figure out how to get the new licensed Vegas 8 to have the same presets as on my other computer's Vegas 8.

I tried to use the Preset Manager 2.0 but it doesn't seem to allow me to access anything except the Soundforge sfx.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

I figured out a manual work around to this problem, but if anyone has an easier way, let me know please.

Today, I made up a veg file of all the presets I had created as short clips on a timeline. Then I opened the veg file in the new computer and opened each clip to edit. Then that was named in the preset line and saved. Now that setting as a preset is available on the new computer. Wish it was easier but at least what I did was systematic and got the job done in about an hour of manual work.

You can use the Sony Preset Manager with video presets but they have to be in Filter Package. So the secret is to add all of your presets to a package chain and transfer the package file over and save them back out again. They will show up under FX Chains in the Preset Manager. It's probably as much work as what you did with the veg file but it is an alternate solution.

Sorry to exhume this thread, but I'm stumped. I'm trying to transfer some favorite video filter settings (e.g. in the Sony Levels filter) from one machine to another (both Vegas 8.0b, Preset Manager 2.0i). I create and copy the FX chains from one rig to the next, then "Copy to System", but my favorite settings within Sony Levels don't show up. I don't understand chains too well, I think.. Does the preset manager copy custom presets (and their names)? And has anyone seen a step by step to this anywhere?
