Do you mean just the .veg file? Or the audio files, too.

If it's just the .veg file you can attach it to your email. They're usually quite small.

If you want to send the entire project (inlcuding the audio files) than emailing probably won't work. Most email servers have a size limit somewhere in the 3MB range. Even if yours has a 10MB limit, you could still only send 60 seconds of stereo audio at a time.

But you could potentially upload the project to an ftp site (if one of you has one).

I'm interested in this as well.
I understand the email limits for audio files. What about snail mail and sending the unmixed audio files via C.D. How would you go about this (in an organized fashion) if the project doesn't fit on one C.D.? Is it enough to fill up as many C.D.s as neccisary and simple lable the C.D.s acourdingly?
Sorry to butt in.
Theron.

If you're sending it to someone else who is also running Vegas, the simplest and most organized way to do it is as follows: (If you've been organized as you've been working on your project, you may not need to do all of these steps)

1. Create a new folder on your hard drive - label it "My Song" or something.

2. Open the project in Vegas.

3. Clean out your media pool. (Click the little broom icon in the upper left-hand corner of your Media Pool - or go to TOOLS > CLEAN MEDIA POOL.)

4. Go to FILE > SAVE AS and navigate to your new "My Song" folder. Save your project there, making sure you put a check in the box "Copy All Media With Project". Now every file related to your project is in this new folder.

5. Burn the folder (and it's contents) to a CD. If you have more than one CD's worth of data, burn as much as you can on the first CD and the rest of the files on a 2nd CD.

When the person gets your CDs, they can copy all of the files from both CDs into the same folder on their hard drive and they're ready to roll.

Of course, if you're sending your Vegas project to a non-Vegas user, that's a different story.

RobSoul,

Thanks a lot for this info. I'll give this a shot.
I'll let you know how it turns out! :)
