Transferring Vegas on new PC

I have just got a new PC. A quad core i7. Is there a proven way of transferring V6, V8, V9 and DVDA and maintaining old settings?
Looking at the present setup, apart from program files/sony, there are various files in
Documents & settings
1- all users/application\data\sony
2- administrator/application data\sony
3-administrator\local\applicationdata\sony

If I copy all the relevent directories from program files and document and settings before installing, would there be a good chance of migrating most of my settings?

I assume you bought this new PC and have a new harddrive and new OS already installed and need to use the new system drivers etc...so an image of your old system drive might not be what you want ... If so you may not get all Vegas settings unless you are very expert.. Some settings are in the registry and this can be very tricky or not even doable, depending....but some settings should be able to be moved with some care.

Check Sony Knowledge Base and try searching this forum on all possible keywords..
Read this thread. MIght help some.

Thanks for the link. I - sort of - know there's no way one can carry over the settings/templates to another system. Normally, transfer process would be on 'need it now' basis because the working system has just given up. At the moment I have a perfectly good working system which likes V8 but does not like V9. So I have time to experiment. I may start with V6. Copy all files relating to V6 including shared folders and then try installing the application,
