Transition on chromakey track

Spirit wrote on 12/20/2002, 7:07 PM

I've got a nice chromakey track, but I now want to transition to another track. But I can't get a transition happening, only a straight cut. And I can only get the cut happening by deleting portions of the chromakey track to let the lower track through.

There obviously must be a more elegant way.

Can't see anything covering this in the manual... Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

Hi,

There are a few ways, depending on the transition you want...

You might try placing the next clip on a track above the key-effect and adding a transition there, then you can split and drop back down to your original track or keep going in that track.

You could also render the key-effect to a new track, then use that clip to transition to your next shot, or use it to totally replace the key effect shots in your original track.

You can adjust the opacity of the overlay track by inserting an opacity envelope on it.

You could also use the event fade-out envelope.
