transition progress envelope

I am unable to add a transition progress envelope to a video event. The "transition progess" envelope selection is grey and not selectable. I can add transitions, but unable to add the progess envelope for the transition. Do I have something turned off. I'm using Vegas 5.0.

Did you put an actual transition on the overlap? You can't add the transition envelope until you have an actual transition there. The automatic crossfade does not count.

Thank you so very much. Works great. Just like you said, I had to manually add transition other than the automatic crossfade. Thanks.
