Transition Question

I have 2 events on different tracks that are overlapped. Is it possible to apply a transition to the overlap area even though the events are on different tracks? Hope so. Thanks in advance.

First of all, is there any reason you can't put them on the same track?

Some transitions can be successfully applied to events on different tracks. Add a regular fade-out to the end of the first event and a regular fade-in to the beginning of the first event. Make sure the fades cover the overlap. Drop whatever transition you want onto both fade areas.

If you like to manage on two tracks as a preference you can place everything on a single track and "Expand Track Layers" and it you give you the two track look.

Make a selection over both tracks as long as you want your transition to be.
Now drag a transition onto the end of the first clip within the selection, and configure.
Now repeat with the start of the second clip.

It means twice as many transisions than single track editing, but you can now apply your transitions to your already placed and edited footage.
