transition thingy

Hi all,

Ok so tried to apply transition (clock, flash, cross effect) all of them show the first frame to be black instead of a blending with the other event.

Tried to apply the transition to one end of the event or the beginning of the other event, tried to put the next event on a lower or upper track, still that black frame

One shining example: Inserting an iris transition gives the results that when the iris starts you can see the next event but the rest of the screen is black instead of being the previous event, you can see the result here:

I am sure I am missing one tiny details , anybody got an answer

If I understand the problem then I think what you need to do is overlap the end of the first video clip with the beginning of the second video clip. the more you overlap the longer the transition. The shorter the overlap the faster the transition. If there is no overlap then you will have the black frame. I hope this helps.

OF COURSE !!!!!!!

I was just putting the second clip higher or below the first one , the whole time I wasn't thinking of moving the FIRST clip up/down.

MAN !!!!!!

Thanks a lot bro

Spoke too fast here , ok so : if I overlap the first event over the second one using a barn door it works , as the door opens the first event is getting open and the second event becomes visible no black screen here but when I try to do the same with an Iris transition the black screen is back. I even checked the help files and on the iris page they use an example in which you can clearly see that the first event doesn't go blak but they blend in

What in the name am I missing

thanks for any input

Ok .. ( rolls up sleeves . . )

I maybe wrong here, but you may have a black frame which IS being seen in the Iris but NOT in the Iris - yeah? Try repeating the same process with 2 different clips. See if you can "repeat" this erreant black frame error - yeah?

Questions for you. You have reviewed both clips, and they are good to go with this? Are you confident you are using "all" the head and tail of each clip? Are you "extending", pulling, one clip into the other? Or are you "pushing" one clip/event into the other? Do you think you may have introduced some form of "opacity" into one of the clips? Also, within Iris one can adjust the size of the border. Is it possible you have made this border SO BIG that it appears as a whole frame - yeah?

Anyway, given you something to chew over .. you did say, "thanks for any input" . .well you got me thinking anyway! :)

Grazie

Put them both on the same track and overlap them.

Peter, I think he is, "if I overlap the first event over the second one using a barn door it works " . .. and he says Barn Door works. Are you think ing that he still has it on two tracks and seeing the Barn Door "working" is actually him getting to the ed of the Event and THEN seeing the lower Track!?!?! Gadzooks! . . .Weirder stuff has happened.

I read and re-read his post/s and couldn't see an obvious.

Something about the words "above" and "below" made me wonder this, Grazie.
