Transitions and Effects?

Hey All,

I have a friend whose has Pinnacle 9.
He has showed me some of his quick spoofs he does while playing online games.He has all these transitions between scenes...(cars pulling in new scenes,glass breaking into new scenes, etc.)

I just started out with Vegas Movie Studio.
Does it do this also or is it a bit more professional with less "comical" transitions??
Are their places to get extra video effects/transitions??

MS has a lot of transitions, though there's nothing like the ones you've described, and nowhere to download them. BUT, and I must stress this is very much my personal opinion, I think elaborate transitions are a complete waste of time! Watch any professional film and spot the transitions - you'll almost never see anything more elaborate than a simple cross fade, and even they seem quite rare now.

Of course, my videos will be home movies that the family will watch..
The cheesey things are what they like to see...hehehe

(although I am going to experiment with the professional style also..)

True! I think the trick is to spot when they've had enough. I've just realised I was "economical with the truth" in my previous reply - I use elaborate transitions with stills. I've never felt MS was lacking in that department.
