What follows in more in the Rube Goldberg category and really more a kludge that a option, still you can get some interesting effects. If or not it works better depends on how much work you put into it. Put the cart BEFORE the horse. It just involves a little thinking ahead. What I'm getting at is build your main DVD Menu before you finish rendering your vids in Vegas.

For illustrative purposes assume you're going to have 3 thumbnails on your main DVD menu page. Early on in your editing, still in Vegas, once you're sure of the first 10 seconds or so render it out, name the first one menu-A. Repeat for your other two vids, naming the first 10 seconds or so for B and C. Stop.

Go to DVD-A. Use the tiny A, B, C thumbnails to set up your to-be menu. Be sure you get them where you want. exactly Use the grid system and probably write down the X-Y values. Add whatever else will be on the final menu.

Now take a screen capture of your to-be menu. Add this screen shot to the front of each of your projects in Vegas. Now you're free to do any more fancy transition you want. It will look smoother then just jumping because you can more slowly transiton from the menu this way.

When its time to do the real thing just drop in the completed full files from A, B, C replacing the tiny ones, be sure everything is aligned like it was when you took the screen captureand if you wish push the start slider down a few frames so its just starting to do the transiton, and it looks pretty cool.

Thanks for that excellent description, BillyBoy. I was always curious if DVDA could handle it, since it seems a nice program to work with. I'll have to try that out.

Cheers
