You simply move it to where you want it. But firstly you'd better tell us what software you are using.

Thank you, I am using vegas pro 22 suite, my problem is I can find the rolling effect going on the screen but how do I get to it, I have tried the edit if the effect but can not get to if to remove it or move it. Can anyone advise me if there is a YouTube video on how to use effect, like from start to finish and then re-edit it if it appears in the wrong please. I could edit the movie and send you a split of it either using Vegas or movie suite 2025.

please help I am ageing fast and bringing to wish I had not bothered with the cast list.

Rolling Effect in what exactly: Titles & Text, Pro Type Titler or a 3rd party titler such as NBFX Titler Pro or BorisFX Title Studio?

And have you imported whatever titler that you are using on to its own event usually as an FX on a black Media Generated video event on an upper video track? - in which case you can vary the length and position of the title on the timeline. Or have you imported the title directly on a video event on the timeline in which case the title is 'stuck' to the length of that video event? - in which case the title cannot be varied in length without altering/cutting the video event on which it is placed.

THANK YOU, I created it in vegas pro suite 22 effect title and selected the rolling cast and copied from word using cntl C and pasted it using cntl V which pasted it, into the rolling title. i now understand what you have said, and means i have to cut and start this bit of video again, just to put you in the pitchure for some reason only part of the cast list ended up at the end the other part ended up halfway in the video but not at the end in a time place were i placed it, some how it has found a spot of its own, and i dont know how. I have been going around in circles.

SO is it best to put the effect on a different track on the timeline to enable me to edit it.

Yes. Assuming that you are using one of the Titles and Text presets, first drag the Titles and Text media event from the Media Generator window on to an upper video track, copy/paste the title into its 'Generated Media' window. You may then have to do a bit of juggling with the title event length on the timeline and the start and end keyframing of the credit roll in the titler to get the result that you want. I use BorisFX's Title Studio for end credit rolls and its often a bit of challenge to get the start and end of the credit roll in Title Studio to match the intended length of the title event on the timeline.

Very much appreciated. I know this is not the place to ask, but I would like someone feedback like yours as you seem to know a lot about video editing, this is my first time.

i have vegas 22 pro suite, Magix Movie 2025 suite, I see magix also do video pro x16 is this easier to use or should I carry on with what I have, and does the movie 2025 ultimate any difference between suite and it.

The MAGIX range of video editors are completely different and unrelated to Vegas Pro thus I am unable to provide an opinion on those MAGIX products other than each has a different learning curve in all sorts of ways (I don't have any of those recent products)

Re the difference between MAGIX Movie 2025 versions, check the features list on MAGIX's website as usually the basic editing program is exactly the same but what you get in the way of third-party extras is where the difference lies. If you don't need the extras in the more expensive version, then there's little point in getting that more expensive version.

Re Video Pro X 16, perhaps download and install the free trial - https://www.magix.com/us/video-editor/video-pro-x/ - so that you can form your own opinion about that product.

Overall, the best advice that I can give is to continue using the program with which you are currently most comfortable. Of course, you can always "play/experiment" with another editor as a training exercise to learn its features and idiosyncrasies in order to decide if you want to move on to another video editor.

@Ivor-Williams I have both VPX14 and MMS2024 Suite in addition to VP22. Overall, I prefer Vegas for many reasons. It's faster timeline editing. It edits with overlays being just that, laid over the video, not under it. The ability to add OFX plugins easily, and they work more seamlessly than in VPX. MMS doesn't handle 10bit 422 video at all, so I have it more for a novelty than for editing. MMS is less complex than VPX, but they edit the same way and have a lot of the same features. Color grading is better overall in Vegas. Adjustment events, better features in the AI, and the list gets pretty extensive. Now, if you want templates, Magix has them.

Where for me, VPX/MMS excel better is with their title editing. Much easier an faster, along with better playback. But Titles, while extremely important, aren't as important to me for editing, where I spend the most of my time. I've gotten by with Vegas titles and adding transitions to the beginning and end of it. And if I have to do a "credit roll", I wouldn't attempt it in Vegas. I'd just do dissolves between the the different title pages. Much easier to time and set up.
