Transparency

I'm having some trouble getting my graphic's white background transparent. I'm using Microsoft Image Composer, and I've tried making .png and .tga files. I've checked the "transparency" option in both of them, and set the alpha as white (which it is in the logo) but the white still shows up in Vegas. Any ideas? I've done this before in Pinnacle products, so why wouldn't it work here?
Thanks,
Nick

Its very easy to do in Photoshop if you have that also. I just drag the Photoshop file onto the timeline and you see the checkerboard background of the transparency so you know what parts of the image are transparent.

Also try this:

Move the cursor over your image. Drop in the Chroma keyer filter. Use the eye dropper to select your color. If needed also drop in the brightness and contrast filter which when applied correctly will further mask out any traces of the color you don't want.

Best results are obtained with solid colors.

Thanks for the ideas. The Chroma filter worked okay (a little sloppy), so I'd really like to be able to make the image transparent in the photo programme. I have Photoshop on my laptop and know how awesome it works, but not on my editing PC, so that leaves using it out of the picture (no pun intended.) Anyone know how to do this with Paint Show Pro or Image Composer? To be honest, I'm new to Vegas and it is great, but the titling and over-lay section isn't anything to get excited about.

Thanks,
Nick

Did you set the transparency in Vegas? If not, you might try right-click on the event and select properties>media tab>Alpha-channel - premultiplied...

Tried the appearance settings; looks cool!

Can anyone tell me how, on W2000 I can set two different boot ups - one for normal using using the Standard Windows Colours and one for when using the colour scheme for Vega which I have named Vegas Colours.

Cheers
