Transparent GIFs

I'm using MSP13 and up to now I haven't had any problems authoring, rendering and creating DVDs and Blu-Rays. Recently I have included some GIF images with transparent backgrounds and during the rendering process MSP13 will simply crash and hang the PC. If I replace the GIFs with JPGs - the problem disappears. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

There are different ways to save gifs. Have you tried another way. Also is your gif too large? Is it sized for your project?

I will and save another way - I'm confident the GIF size is no larger than 1920x1080. I do however use Pan/Crop to re-size as an overlaid image. Perhaps make the size smaller first and then use Pan/Crop. Thanks TreeTops for the suggestions.

Update: With the same project settings and using the same process as I tried (and failed) with jpgs - I find that I don't encounter any problems with pngs! Strange - but happy I now have a resolution.
