Transport control, no return after stop wanted

From the help file:
"When you stop playback, the cursor returns to its original position."

I do not always want this. Often I want the cursor just to stop, when I press the space bar, I do not want it to jump back to where it started. Can I change this behaviour?

Options - Prefs - General.
Select "Make spacebar & F12 Play/Pause instead of Play/Stop" (near the bottom of this list).

Yes you can. It's a checkbox in the prefs/general tab. "Make spacebar and F12 Play/Pause instead of Play/Stop"

Also, the Carriage Return key does Play/Pause in Vegas without your having to mess with the prefs.

Na -- your dearest friend will be when you assign this and the space bar function to two of your Shuttle Pro keys so you don't have to reach for the keyboard.

Either way. The preference change makes the space bar do the same job and this is nice because it's such a big key. Much easier to tap with a thumb.

I have a Shuttle Pro and a Shuttle Express. I prefer the Express because it has fewer buttons and was easier to remember. I find that I never really leave the keyboard so there wasn't much use in assigning functions to all of the buttons on the Pro. (Mainly I just like the wheels)

But this is a personal preference. Learning a quarter of the keyboard shortcuts would make just about anyone's life easier in Vegas.

I tend to use K for this pretty much exclusively and far prefer it over either Enter or Spacebar, even though it's a small key. "Why", might you ask? Because J and L are on either side of it.
