Sort of. Both will work side-by-side. However, when you uninstall the Vegas Trial, you sometimes lose your common plug-ins (FX or Transitions, I forget which. It's been awhile).

It's not a permanent loss though. You can reregister the dlls by dropping them onto VF, which very obligingly does all the hard work for you.
