Trimmer in V6 (JKL keys do exponential play/reverse)

OK, mabye I have some iotion set incorrectly, but when I open a clip in trimmer in V6 it plays correctly when I press L, I press K and I mark my out point, I press L again and it goes to 1.50x speed, not 1.00 speed. I repeat and it now plays at 2x then 4x. This is driving me crazy, is there something that I can do? I use this functionality to pull the good clips and name them using I(n) and O(ut) and R(egion). Thanks.

John Meyer's response in this thread may be of some help to you.

Are you not pausing at each of these points? If there is no action between presses of the J/L keys, they'll incrementally speed playback. If you press K to pause playback when setting your In or Out point, pressing L after that should be playing at normal speed.
I just checked mine, and with JKL set to Fast, Medium, or Slow in Prefs, it's working normally for me. Are you holding the K key before pressing the L key? Key sticking maybe?
curious....

I know, this is a strange one. I press L and the trimmer plays, I press K and stop the trimmer, mark my I(n) point, press L again (this time it plays in 1.5x mode), I stop the cursor at another (I)n point and mark it, press L (and this time it plays at 2x). I repeat the process and it goes 4x, 8x, etc. No keys are stuck. If I press J, it seems to reset something and L plays at 1x one time. I am hot holding the K key while pressing L. (that seems to work normally and start at .25x and increment on each subsequent L press)
