Trimmer plays backwards or high speed

Sony Vegas Pro 13:  I like to use the trimmer a lot. Occasionally however, it starts to play backwards, or at high speed, or both.  I have no idea what I click or press to initiate this and don't seem to be able to stop it when it happens, other than reload into the trimmer.  Any advice please, folks?  Thanks in anticipation

Is this happening on Vegas Pro 14?
