trimmer time vs timeline time

Hey there,

When I'm using Vegas ver. 3, the window which shows the length of my segment in the trimmer does not match the timecode on the timeline even when both the trimmer and the timeline are set to non drop tc, i.e. when the clip is played on the timeline, it is longer than it is in the trimmer. What's up with that?
Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi trotl,

What is selected on the Trimmer-ruler popup menu, and the Timeline ruler, and the project properties?

Martyh, thanks for answering. On Trimmer-ruler pop up menu there is selected "SMPTE drop (29.97fps,video)" and "use media frame rate".
On the Timeline ruler there is "time+frames".
At the Project Properties the same as above.
I would like to trim about 100 still pictures to be about 1,5 seconds in lenght, but as I said, lenght of the clip trimmed in the Trimmer and dragged to the Timeline is different there.

Hi trotl ,

If you are outputting to video, you might change the rulers all to 29.97 drop-frame , since that is what DV (NTSC) uses.

If this is a multimedia project, I suppose you could make them all the same using "time & frames".

P.S. You can set a default image duration in preferences, and then all stills dragged to the TL will have the same duration. HTH
