Trimming a Gearshift proxy file

I am trying to evaluate, whether to use Gearshift for HDV editing. (At the moment still using Vegas 5).
When I try to swap the proxy for the real HDV file - after I did any trimming, cutting or splitting on the proxy - I get a warning (errors where found when replacing media) and an error (No media files where replaced). Is this simply not possible with Gearshift or I am doing something wrong? Would I have the same problems with this in Vegas 6?
Thanks for any help.

Are you using the latest GearShift 1.5? Did you only create the proxies (not intermediaries?) If so, check your hard-drive and make sure the proxy files are in the same directory as the M2T files (this is where GearShift should have placed them). They will have the same name as the M2T file but with "GSProxy-" as a prefix and (of course) ".avi" as the suffix.

We can also work offline on this if you prefer. You can email me at ultimatesupport at vasst d0t com.
