trimming an event-very difficult?

In Vegas 3 I have a hard time in trimming the edges of an event (like there is a strange "snapping" activated). I tried to deactivate all such features, but the problem persists.
This was not happening with Vegas 2. Any suggestion?

Go to 'Options' and make sure 'Quantize to frames' is deactivated.
