Trimming video sections

I might as well ask. Seems like the trimmer should allow me to trim off portions of the video that I don't want. Is there a key combination or a menu choice that let's me do this? I've tried delete menu choice, delete key, right clicking on the highlighted section - nothing seems to work.

Tried reading the help under trimmer and delete - did not find anything.

Drag a clip into the trimmer and find the area you want to keep.

Click and drag on the clip to create a selection area in the trimmer window. Grab the edges of the selection area and drag back and forth to fine-tune your selection.

Now, simply click inside the selected area and drag your selection to the timeline. You don't actually "trim" the clip in the trimmer window -- its more of a "preview and selection" window. Very useful.

If you know you only want the audio or only want the video, right-click on the selection in the trimmer and choose "Select Video Only" or "Select Audio Only", then left-click and drag the selection to the timeline.

You can also use the icons below the trimmer window to add the selection to the timeline from where the timeline cursor currently is, or add the selection to the timeline so that the selection ends where the timeline cursor is. These icons look like rectangles with arrows in them.

Another couple of tips. Play in the trimmer and press i to start a lopop and o to end it. Then simply press A to add after the cursor and <Shift> A to add up to the cursor.

In Options - Preferences if you tick the "Double click on media loads into Trimmer ..." will load an event intot he trimmer.

Cheers.
