Trimming - what am I missing?

I'm a long-time user of VV who has opened and played clips in the trimmer window, but never used it (the trimmer window) for any other function. What am I missing? I usually make all my "trims" rignt on the timeline which seems to work just fine for me, but, I must be missing some important feature. It's obvious that a lot of you have use for that trimming function. Clue me in, please.

Hi Caruso,

Some folks use the trimmer to sub-divide long captures using the region tool. This permits having access to elements in the context of the larger media file... and some folks just like to get the clip real "tight" before dropping in the TL.

An advantage of regions and markers is saving them with the media file. The media can be opened in another project and the markers/regions will be there.

Different strokes, I guess... great to have the choices!
